Civ 5 won't load, at all.

I have windows 7 and have had no issue running civ in the past, but suddenly the game wont load at all. I open the game and steam gives me the little pop up that its about the launch, but then nothing happens?

I have uninstalled and re-installed the game, ran it as an administrator, and restarted my pc (ive done all of these multiple times).

Does anyone know how to fix this? If so, thanks in advance.

Hey, I just hit this issue as well. The new loader seems to default to DirectX v9 (below the Play button), which kept causing the crash for me.

If you click on that v9, you can then select the v10/v11 and then launch. As soon as I did that the issue was fixed.

I have same issue, i tried running as administrator both launcher and dx11 and dx9 files, i run dx diag and nothing helps. If anyone have any ideas pls reply.

Guys, I found a solution

In Steam, in the list of games, right-click on Civ V, select "properties".
Next, "Beta", in the "enter the beta access code...."write " ineedlegacyaccess", click"check code".
We see " the access Code is correct...", above where it says " select beta...", choose " legacy -", click"close".
Start the game, play!

I have the same problem. After actualisation of new launcher the game has not started at all. When i'm clicking for Civ5 the game gives info that is preparing to start but nothing happens later.

This was my last hope, made the Beta change and able to get the old launcher going ....but then crashing again. Completely out of options it seems.

This does nothing to fix the crashing. Stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ POS launcher.

Tried googling other forums and looking into it being an issue with windows 10 (although the game ran smoothly without any problems on this before). Got the tips to enable direct play in windows, still doesn't work... Desperate here.

This works partially for me. I get the old launcher when i select the first option on steam, i get to launch launch Dx10/11 from it and this works just as it always has been before i had this problem. However, when i launch the Dx9 from the launcher, nothing happens and after a few seconds launcher appears again.

Anyway, the beta code still works and i get to play the game again with Dx10/11 just like before. Thanks a lot for the solution.
