To check your applications before updating to Catalina -
Select "About this Mac" in the apple menu - Click System Report then scroll down the left side and select "Applications". Make the window bigger and click the 64bit column to sort the apps to see all the 32bit (no) apps together
Note that the 64 bit update also caused a "version mismatch" error when I try to play with friends on Windows. Not sure if they're going to fix it...
I can also confirm this. If you load the game, you should see the version number on the main menu. The version numbers are mostly the same, except my Mac friend showed me that he had some numbers in parentheses after the version number, so I'm guessing like a patch number. So now the Mac version is technically more updated than the Windows version. I hope they'll do something, even if it's as simple as changing a versionNumber string in the game files or something.
You need to unsub from all betas in the Steam client.
1. Right clicking the game and clicking properties
2. Clicking "BROWSE LOCAL FILES..."
3. Double clicking the app, this has the Mac run the verifying application thingy
After that it seems to work just fine.
Good luck!
Worked for me today! Thanks!
This worked for me, too. I was on the verge of returning it for a refund, when I found this. Thank you!
