"Here's Looking At You, Kid." achievement

Pretty sure this one is officially bugged. I've had very few problems w/ bugs in Civ 5 achievements and i'm an avid collector (at 76% or so). I must've dodged the bullet that a lot of others got hit with.

Played as Morocco. Built the airport. Conquered Portugal's capitol, Lisbon. Built an airport. Airlifted a worker and 2 scientists (back and forth a few times over several turns) from Morocco to Lisbon and got nothing. Built a courthouse to see if the unrest was sabotaging me but that didn't help. Achievement specified civilians so i figured the workers and scientists should count.

Unless anyone has any ideas about my missing something (something probably staring me in the face wouldn't surprise me), chalk this one up as bugged.

sorry to hear this.. i have done this cheevo and have it unlocked. so not sure why yours wouldnt. iirc i airlifted either a great general or prophet but then again it may have been just a worker. I did have to wait for civil unrest to dissapear as the cheevo would not unlock right away during the game. completely dissapear, as in no red fist, not just a courthouse.

i also needed to be at peace with portugal (after sacking Lisbon) for some strange reason.. maybe that might be the bug? not sure. hope you saved the game just incase.

@OZFugazi: I did have the game saved. I gave your ideas a shot. I got it but i had to wait awhile. Right after the peace treaty had expired. They wouldn't hear of a Friendship Declaration but i did give em a few freebies and they were less hostile in negotiations. I sent a Great Prophet and it popped up. Dunno if the peace treaty expiring or the gifts had anything to do w/ it. Thanks for the tips.

I've done this achi too. the kicker seems to be you have to put the unit(worker, religious w/e) INSIDE Lisbon for the it work. go figures :p

Same problem regretfully. Captured Lisbon, made pease with Portugal, tried to airlift different units (workers, all sorts of great people) exactly at the Lisbon hex... and nothing. Looks like one of patches made it unachievable. Same problem was with Connoisseur achievement - it worked ok, but since some point it became unachievable. Junta for Red October also doesn't open for me even though I tried to achieve it from the first days after release.

Connoiseur only works with the original mod interface, but that's the prodlem, Civ V's mod interface was replaced with the steam workshop. It's an achievment you won't get, ever.

@Planestranger: According to the time/dates on my Civ 5 achievements, i unlocked Junta (along w/ Smooth Talking, Whack-A-Mole, Holier Than Thou and Indoctrinated in the same game) while playing as Attila. Would be nice if these achievements were more stable for everyone. Good hunting.

I just got it, 2 turns after capturing Lisbon and still at war with Portugal (was puppeted & still in resistance, but it already had an airport), just make sure you start the airlift in Casablanca, this is what the achievement's all about, yet you just mention "from Morocco to Lisbon". Casablanca ought to be the name of the 4th or 5th city you settle as Morocco iirc.

I don't have the game save anymore but i'm pretty sure i was moving from Casablanca (i love that movie). I should've been more specific in my description. Good point tho. It specifically mentions Casablanca in the achievement.

I've experienced the same problem/bug. But also with me, it helps when I declared peace with Portugal.
Remember: it have to been from Casablanca, before it works.

I just did this one, I captured it, by the time I got the airports set up we were at peace. I sent a worker back and forth a few times with no luck. I airlifted all my offensive attackers away from lisbon back to one of my other cities (not casablanca). Then when I airlifted a worker from casablanca to lisbon, the achievement popped. There must be something with the other units being in/around the cities that was causing it not to flag, because as soon as I moved them, it worked.

Just got it on the second try. Had to be inside the city of Casablanca (not the outskirts) to inside the city of Lisbon, which I didn't do the first time. Used a worker. Still was at war with Portugal.

Just throwing my two cents into this old thread as another data point for anyone else who's struggling with this.

- Played a game where I renamed Rabat to Casablanca early on, wiped out Portugal, cleared all units out of both cities' limits, then airlifted a great scientist from inside Casablanca to inside Lisbon -- no achievement.

- Tried again in a different game, this time playing it extra safe. Left Portugal with one city and made peace, cleared all units out of both cities' limits, airlifted a worker from inside Casablanca (the original, not a renamed Casablanca) to inside Lisbon -- achievement!

I don't know which of these factors actually affected unlocking this achievement. Hope this helps someone though!

Did this achievement just now - works just fine! :)

I had already won the game, so I had clicked "just one more turn.." and that don't seem to stop you from getting the ach. Airlifted a worker from Casablanca to Lisbon after the uprising/anarchy had ended.
So it's still doable! :)
