My Little Pony Achievement - can't seem to get it?

My Little Pony - Catherine (Russia) - Be the first to discover Horseback Riding.

^Anyone know if this achievement is glitched? I've reloaded my game about 30 times trying to get this achievement and it never gives me the achievement. Things I have tried:

- Limiting the map to tiny or duel so that there are fewer competitors researching the tech
- Changing to easier difficulties to get an advantage in research
- Scouting out ancient ruins to get the tech
- Saving the game right before going onto the ancient ruin (having enabled random seed) and reloading to try and get the tech

Does anyone know if reloading the game causes the achievement to not happen or something?

Find someone to go coop with you. make sure you and your buddy are the only team, this way you have double the resorce going tward tech than any other leader in the game. You may be able to do this in single player with an AI team-mate, but im not sure if they will reasurch the same topic or if they will reaserch others.

Thanks for your reply. I tried it but it didn't work. First time I tried teaming up with Attila and that made me start off with Horseback Riding (no achievement) so I restarted the game and teamed up with Germany. This time we researched the tech by turn 7 but still no achievement. I turned off ancient ruins so no other civ could have gotten the tech that way.

Any other suggestions?
