Cannot change custom Civ short name or adjective

Ive been having this problem for a while. no matter what I do, I cannot change the short name or the adjective for my civilization, whenever I try to, I click the accept button and when I check or start the game, It is never changed. I initially changed the name once, but after then, its been stuck ever since. is anyone else having this problem? I havent really found anyone talking about this issue online.

I have a similar problem. I changed the Leader name a few games ago, and now, every time I save a game, Civ 5 will use that leader name for the name of the savegame file, even though I didn't ask to use a custom leader name.

During gmae setup, when I click the edit button for the Cililization I'm playing, that old leader name is still there, I I can not get rid of it; If I delete the leader name and leave it blank, the Accept button is not active.

Same for me here. I can't find a solution for this so i want to try this by myself - i already tried to repair the game (right klick -> properties) and to reinstall the game. Both didn't work. Are there maybe some similarities with your case? for example how do/did you start your game? DirectX9 or 10? which language? i'm gonna try to start it with the other Direct X (i use V9) and change the language from german to english/back i subscribed that threat so i'm going to message you when/if i solved the problem and please tell me if you did.

okay guys i did things on my own and i solved the problem! it was a Stupid/Genius try and my stupidity/genious was right!!! so all you have to do is to go to your Documents -> look for Civilization5 (for me it was C:\Users\Daniel\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5) and just delete that WHOLE CIVILIZATION 5 folder and start the game!!!!! then EVERYTHING is gone, Saves, settings n stuff EVERYTHING! but that bug is gone too. I hope i could help~

I found that if you if you go to advanced settings after you pick a civ and click reset,it fixes it!
