Full screen issue on Mac
I was playing this game on a 13 inch Macbook Pro without issue. However now I have decided I would like to use my new Mac Mini at home connected to the TV. It installed and I have tried to use it in full screen mode, like I do on my mac, now the grey bar is at the top of the screen with the time etc will not get off the screen. Plus when you put the cursor towards the edges it doesn't scroll.

It now won't let me choose between window and full scree either. Anyone got any ideas?

Try ctrl + cmd + F
And the next time, buy a PC, not a toy.

That's an extremely rude, close minded, and frankly, quite outdated statement. Mac's are just as capable of performing professional level tasks. Most creative professionals, musicians, and independent businesses use OS X and swear by it for usability, speed, and stability.

In fact, you'll see more Apple hardware in the Seattle area than you do Windows.

Back on topic, I've discovered Aspyr has done a pathetic job of porting this game to OS X. The blame rests with them. My copy crashes every 20 minutes or so, with all settings turned to minimum and playing in strategic view. Windowed or full screen, it still crashes. Pretty sad.

Try to play without the strategic view. On my previous computer, the strategic view made the game crash. I don't think it's the same trouble but who knows.

Nuguns, whereas I appreciate a response, albeit a useless one you're an idiot. Yes they made the game better for the PC. But do you know what I can do? I can install Windows on a partition and then switch between the two so run Windows and OS X on the same machine. So stop being an idiot and go convince yourself that owning a cheap machine is a good thing. Windows runs amazingly well when it's run on a Mac. If only windows died, I would be very happy because it would mean developers would make games run well on a Mac.

Regardless unfortunately your answers have not helped.

As I said, it is running full screen, but the top line which mentions File > Edit and the clock is over the top of the game. It's unique to my Mac Mini as on my Macbook Pro laptop it doesn't do it. Maybe there's some setting somewhere that is doing this but I can't seem to find it anywhere. The Mac Mini is brand new and it's the first time I've tried to run the game on there. It wouldn't matter, but I can't see how much research/cash etc I am making every turn

Try comparing settings on the two computers. The difference is likely caused by something diferent between the two.

A mac is very very very expensive for nothing. You have poor hardware and you can't change it. Look a the price for a HDD or RAM everywhere and compare it with the price and the Apple store. And if you want to install Windows, why do you buy a mac, it's stupid.

However, your trouble is that the bar a the top in front of the game so you have to lanch the game in window mode and you extand the game to the corners of your screen. You will still have the bar at the top but you will see all the game.

Again, you're not understanding my point. On my MACBOOK PRO the game is fine. On my Mac Mini, it's not. It's very odd. New patch however is out so perhaps this may fix things.

Same story here for the past 6 months (since an update of Civ V if I remember well). Any news?

For the record, I sent an email to Steam and they fixed the issue within a few hours only. Bottom line, it looks like I was using a too low resolution (720p) on my Mac Mini desktop. Using 1080p for the desktop starts the game perfectly. Thanks Steam!
