How do I GARRISON a unit in a city?
When I originally bought Civ 5 soon after it came out; you had an option to garrison a unit in the city. That does not seem to be here, anymore. Yet, the game mentions "garrisoned units" and so on, quite a bit, in fact.

Where did this option go? And how do you now garrison your units in cities?

a garison unit is a unit in a city or you could use the f key that will keep them garrisonised.

F=sleep

but the unit doesn't necessarily need to be sleeping. Just leave it over your city and it's done..

pressing on the F key board is fortifly the unit it raises their defenives if they have in in the same spot for a least a turn and the h key makes them stay until they have been healed:reusapple:

I prefer to press A for alert, but it depends what the unit is

The old garrison mechanic was kinda wonky, especially if you wanted to move a unit through a city manually instead of having it end its turn there. That system was removed, thankfully; now, as everyone else has said, any (military?) unit in a city counts as garrisoned, even if it just happens to be out of moves there. Really helps city defence, especially with a strong ranged unit.

OK, thanks guys :)

the reason I had asked is, that some policies say "garrisoned troops increase happiness" or "pay not maintenance", etc, etc.
