Pausing a multi player?
How does one pause a multi-player game when using the timed turns function? Can it be done?

Can you actually pause a multi-player game. Let's say, to take it back after one day?

Unfortunately, there's no pausing option in Civ5 multiplayer. What players do when they wish to extend the timer--either because they need more time or because a player dropped and needs to rejoin--is to set a unit on auto-explore by clicking E.

This can be done when there are unexplored areas of the map that the unit can explore, and the unit has at least a movement point left. So, for instance, if you've researched Satellites, the entire map will be revealed and you can't automate units anymore.

I mean unfortunately. I know what you mean, but some games came up with solutions to this problem, such as giving players a finite number of pause options, or allow players to vote unanimously to pause the game. That would avoid abusing the feature.
