New to Civ V confused about stacking and grouping

I've been playing Civ since the first game and I've always been able to lock my stacked units into a group and I can't seem to figure out how to get the group to stick together. I just got one of those special general guys and I want him to stay with my military unit. Is this not possible any more?

I hope I'm not missing something painfully obvious.

Unlike previous Civ games, Civ V has a One Unit Per Tile system. However, you can stack Civilian Units (like Settlers, Workers, and Great People) and Military Units together, albeit only one Civilian and one Military together.

That being said, you can't lock stacked units in a group. You have to move them both manually.
