This doesn't happen for me. It must be a problem with your graphics driver/card.

Of course. Then play on biggest size and try to cover all fields with farms.
Testoviron May 16, 2015 @ 5:47am
3/4 of all fields on biggest map in my game are covered with farms, and after few saves, 300 rounds farms disappear. Btw my graphic card is fine because i can build farms on other fields and it doesn't disappear...

Well, dont know what to tell you. The devs certainly would have fixed it if it were possible. I know very little about game design, but I am pretty sure the game would not run at ALL without them because it cant load all those textures at once. Either that or you graphics driver/card isnt working.

Probably game has max amount of all (for example) farms in game.

I have noticed that AMD cards has disappering farms/roads/etc. more often than NVidia or Intel cards. I have disappearing farms regularly when playing with my gaming rig, which has AMD graphics card (HD 7970 3GB), but I have encountered that same problem rarely on my laptop, which has just Intel HD Graphics 4000. I play the game with same game settings on both computers, except some graphical settings that are not maxed out in my laptop. There are some problems reported with NVidia users too, but clearly more AMD users has that problem.

I don't know for sure, but it seems to me that problem is not in the game, but in graphics card drivers, at least there seems to be some difference between graphics card manufacturers.

Btw. I have had missing farms since the release of the game, and I have used AMD graphics cards. I have played the game with two or three different AMD cards (can't remember) and at least 20 versions of the drivers and always the same problem.

Not that big problem though IMO, farms/roads normally reappear when I scroll the mousewheel back and worth rapidly.

So they didn't even tried to repair this bug since 2010?

They would have to re-write the a ton of stuff in the graphics code, taking months of time to fix a mildly annoying bug. It is too bad, but its just the way the industry works I'm afraid.

Not specific for AMD. I also have 770 GTX and farms disappear in late game even on standart maps. It mostly happens if you also make too many railroads and it is a known bug with no fix in sight for a long time.

NVIDIA GT 650, same problem : huge sized map, lap 1200 still no bugs. Then I conquered two civilisations territories (completely (represent 1/2 of the map if I count water)). Saved the game, left. Came back next day, loaded the game and I've got 5/6 of my farmes that disappeared...

Fixed this temporarily by clearing my cache. In "Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\" rename cache\ to cache-bak\
After doing this I had to re-enable my mods, but all farms appear correctly again.

Edit: Temporary. Farms disappear again after a while.

I never played and I'm just looking around to see if this game might be fun :)

anyway sounds like fun!

The problem manifests slightly differently for me, Farms in the vicinity of a conquered city show up as pillaged, both graphically and on the city map, but cannot be repaired and do NOT get listed as a farm when you hover over them. The game lets you try to build a new farm on the same hex, because it doesn't know they're farms, but the build fails and you are left with the original (pillaged) farm. Same thing can happen with a lumber mill. So it's not just a graphics bug; the functionality of the game is damaged.
