I had also the longest war ever on that game, I had a war against Alexander for well over 1000 turns, because he didn't want to negotiage peace (because of my laughable army). His cities were located on the other side of the map, so I could not attack him... with my two units. He didn't attack me either, not even once.
hehehh, you roleplayed Gandhi well :D
The only true joy from long matches is because of having a short "history" for your civ actually happen. youll think about earlier in the week how that one major war in 1300bc decided if your small city state would survive to continue the test of time and maybe somewhere alone the line you met a civ who was very friendly and traded generously with you allowing you to bring your economy into the green allowing the ability to field a larger military and conquer lands and get an empire and so on.
I've gone 900+ turns playing as.... Songhai of Africa peeps... I won the game on domination around Atomic, before Nukes were developed... this was on G&K only, no BNW.
you must be on Quick or something!
Too fast for me!
Probably 1000+.... even 1.2k-1.5k I'm guessing... that's a long one! I always play on marathon, like I mentioned, but mine never seem to go passed 1000... i don't think! by then i'm just trying to finish, so I basically steam roll my army passed each city!
A single marathon speed game takes normally more gaming hours than most Civ V players have total hours with the game.
