How to install Civilization V The complete edition?

I still have the normal Civ V. Now i got the complete edition but always when i try to install these it fails. The only thing that happened is that the normal civ starts

You don't need to actually install the game if you have vanilla already installed, complete edition just adds all expansions and DLC's to the game (there is no new steam library entry).

Did you buy a retail version of Complete Edition? (disk, not from Steam Store).

If so, then you need to add your Complete Edition CD-key to the Steam to Steam recoqnize you have bought Complete outside Steam Store and start to load content from Steam server. You can do that by clicking "Games" from the Steam menu and select "Activate a product on Steam".

Note that this will result a large download from Steam servers. I don't know if there is any way to add expansions and DLC's from the disc.
