Civilization 7 Wishlist
I only want two things from Civilization 7...

1.) Create Your Own Civilization (Built-In, No Modding Required)
2.) Customize A Civilization (Built-In, No Modding Required)

I agree with these two points...

I think a number of points should be available to customise your civ as you play through.

For example, each civ start out with 60 points to purchase unique units/buildings/improvements. Then you could spend some of these points to unlock the Legion unit. Some could be spent on a unique building etc...

It's frustrating when you play a civ and their uniques end up of being no consequence in the game because of arbitrary factors such as starting geography/difficulty level/surrounding civilizations.

The Civ V social policy system is far superior than the Civ VI cards/civics you can switch between. It requires much more long-term thinking.

The most important is facilitating better multiplayer via async simultaneous turns. The AI is very limited and can only compete with humans via cheating.

Would be huge to have a better functioning multiplayer...

agree with your points
and I would prefer the artstyle to be closer to V than VI

I like the above suggestions.:steamthis:

Would also like a viable Religion Victory added to the mix.

I'll reiterate that I'd like unique abilities and units to be dependent on the starting terrain. It is, after all, what happened historically. Civilisations that had horses in their vicinity became adept at horsemanship, coastal starts and island nations mastered the sea, etc., etc..

The implications of the two things I want from Civilization 7 are...

1.) The computer can also use them if you allow it to use them.
2.) Online matches that allow them will be much more interesting, funny, or broken.

You customize your civilization as you play a game? I like it.

I agree with the points. I would add one more. I do not want Civ 7 to be like Civ 6. I think it is unplayable. I tried many times and it it horrible. It should have not been done. However, if there is someone who could show me what is good with Civ 6, I am all ears.

Map pins.

I want Civ 5, better graphics, more city state interactions, maybe. Higher order crafting, ie. not just iron to make tanks, but iron to make engines and then engines to make tanks, but engines require some other stuff. So the simplistic nature of resource requirements is slightly more complex, which encourages conquest or negotiating so you can unlock certain tech. Like for instance, too easy to just make planes, it should require a variety of complex resources combined to make planes, but most likely, you won't have all the required ingredients close, so you have to fight for them or trade for them. This would encourage combat not just for land, but also purely to unlock the making of tech. This could also include city specialization in making buildings to process the resources into making the planes, but this is a long process and so city specialization would be important, and losing vital cities means no more tanks, or no more planes, etc etc.

I don't just want a big number next to the city (also tell us what the number means), I actually want cities that are visually HUGE. Also bring back the city view, but this time make it actually cool. Bigger zoom, realistic graphics, better AI, WW2 Scenario etc.

I agree with many of the above suggestions for VII- more of a Civ V resonance - keep the social policy system - add a religious victory, increase City State interactions and complexity, make developing improvements and assets more multi-step, keep one unit per tile, link civilization development somewhat to surrounding geography, and add limited canal and tunnel construction. I never bought Civ VI because of the negative reviews and buffoonish art style - the only Civ edition I never purchased since the series inception.

I bought it and it's the only CIV I bounced right off. Only put 30-something hours into it before getting bored.

I want it to not be on steam or any 3rd party platform.

All I want is for the game to have computer opponents that are actually somewhat competent so that they don't have to rely as heavily on cheating to be a challenge. Emperor difficulty was the highest I could get while still having fun consistently. Immortal is less so. I can win, but it's more frustrating than satisfying. The computer players are still just as brain-dead as they are at the easiest difficulty but they start so far ahead that the early game often feels more like playing catch-up more than anything and since the early to mid-game is the most fun part for me it means that once you do catch up your at the point of the game where you are mostly just clicking next turn until you win. At the very least a way to customize the difficulty would be nice.

This sounds like my precise experience and skill level.
I would like an AI that can play the game in a more clever manner with increasing difficulty.

That said, the game will undoubtedly be more complicated and have more features than Civilization V, which means that it is even more difficult to write a competent AI to play the game, so perhaps it's not worth it in their development budget.
