Heathen Conversion
So despite 4K hours of Civ I have only just used Heathen Conversion and I just wanted to say it's flipping amazing; the easiest and least painful way to clear barb camps ever.

I ended up having to give units away, I had so many, and I had so many CS allies it was crazy.

Yeah, it's so OP that I don't usually use it. It also makes Germany's UA quite useless.

It's ok with standard size map, because there is not much room for barbarians. Usually all barbarians are killed in classical/medieval era at latest and soon there is no room for barbarian camps to spawn anyway. Heathen conversion is way too powerful in any larger than standard size map or in case civilizations are removed.

It works only at standard speed standard size continents map with decent difficulty level, otherwise it seems to be broken, because it's unbalanced. I think that all reformation beliefs are broken or useless. Maybe they though that reformation beliefs can be OP, because they are hard to get, but it's not so anymore with Piety tree changes.

Totally agree, and it was only a standard size map at Emp level; but still totally OP. Not sure I would use it again as I don't usually push that hard to improve religion but it really was great fun.

I got Heathen Conversion for the first time in my current game. I'm getting so many barbs I have to give them away to CS's so the unit maintenance doesn't wreck my economy. I'm 4 techs behind (my first ever game at Immortal level) so some of the barbs I convert are more advanced than what I can build.

You don't get the culture and gold from clearing camps with a missionary, so I've been surrounding a few camps with Gatling guns and killing the new infantries and machineguns when they pop up -- with a missionary standing by in case I get in trouble.

Heathen Conversion can also convert barbarian ships and even from an embarked missoniary. I was just thinking about England and Archipelago or any other water map. Remember that England's UA will give extra movement to embarked civilian units, which include missionaries, so they will move 4 tiles when embarked without other bonuses. England is already almost unbeatable on Archipelago map, but with Heathen Conversion...

Heathen Conversion works also against rebels, becuse they are recognized as barbarian units. Rebels can have modern units, while barbarian units are usually low tech even on late game. Rebels can have Giant Death Robots too, once I was attacked by two rebel GDRs while I was on tech lead and all other civs were still in modern or atomic era. Even I didn't have any uranium mined in that time, but rebels had two GDRs.

I would change few things to make Heathen Conversion not OP.
  1. Missionaries can't convert barbarian units in their camp
  2. Missionaries can't convert barbarian ships
  3. Missionaries can't convert rebels
Reformation beliefs are generally broken, some are OP while some others are totally useless.

its great, as it can convert rebels as well as barbarians.
