If that doesn't work, you could try re-installing the game completely. But beware, there's a very big chance that, by re-installing the game, you will run into the new 'Updating Executable' error, which has been reported a lot lately.
Edit: Some people suggested that it actually does have to do with the mods they used, see this Steam post for example.
Yeah I finally got the updating executable error resolved and been playing for the last week. Now I'm getting this stupid error and I havn't been able to find a solution anywhere.
I also tried what you suggested and clicked on the vcredist file but nothing changed
Unfortunately it doesn't look like I can retrieve my saved game. It has been corrupted.
The fix ensures that I won't have this issue again in the future, unless I reinstall Civ 5 and forget to turn off cloud save again.
The fix tells you to re-enable cloud saves but I personally decided to keep it off so that this cloud sync issue which led to my crash never happens again.
