"Hey ****! As stated in our link http://support.aspyr.com/hc/en-us/articles/204669814--SUPER-IMPORTANT-Info-for-users-on-OS10-7-or-older-
Other than using Time Machine to back up your game data, there is no way to reverse the update for Civilization V to be playable on Mac OS 10.6.8. Nor do we have plans to revert this update, or bring support for 10.6.8 in the future."
"With Apple rolling along new software and OS updates, dropping support for older operating systems is a fairly standard procedure. Same with Microsoft dropping Windows XP and other older versions, as well as us dropping Mac OS 10.5/lower, and older PowerPC Macs from back in the day."
"As stated in the article, Civilization V is not the only title that we've dropped 10.6 and 10.7 for. More titles are going to be receiving this update as the weeks roll by."
I guess we're ♥♥♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥!
this is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing ever lol
Hi there! I appreciate the effort of helping us all out. I can't seem to find the info.plist file (running OSX 10.6.8). Any suggestions for how I'd go about attempting the fix?
Just trying to launch the game from there, not from Steam, you never know. Or trying identify the latest modified file within the game application might help.
Remember to turn your internet connection off whenever you launch it from now on though.
I'm wondering if it's because my internal temperature is getting high. That being said, I have smcfancontrol and turn it all the way up to 6200rpm when I play, but my internal temperature still gets to just below 200 degrees. When I ran 10.6.8, this was never an issue, my Mac just ran hot, but now it seems like it freaks out whenever it gets that hot and just locks down on me. Any suggestions or anything I might be able to do to remedy this problem?
