Clouds not loading

I recently starting playing again for the first time in a few months and where there used to be clouds in undiscovered tiles, now they are just completely black, as if the texture is bugged or something. Has anyone else had this issue and any ideas on how to fix it? The bug happens with and without mods installed

Sounds like your video settings have been changed. You get black hexes when your fog of war quality is set to minimum and your shadow quality is set to "off".

If you go into options when you start the game you can go to Video options and change the settings on shadow quality to at least low and you should get white clouds again. Best view for fog of war is of course high on both those settings.

Change them to how you want them and save the changes, then exit and reload the game. You should be back to white fog of war again.
