This is the CIV 5 world builder. Okay. No in game changes. That blows. AND it seems kinda buggy. Thank you though gibus.
Also to make it work you have to go through mod > single player and then load scenario
I started world builder and then loaded the map. But I am not familiar enough with the functions and it is not showing me my units (which I even turned everything off to see nothing but units) or where my starting point is at. Making it very confusing for me. I could figure it out eventually but why?
I would have to save the map. Switch to WB.(ALT-TAB) Load the map. Do what I want, switch back to game and then load it back. If it wasn't for the loading I would be all for it. I hate the loading on Civ always takes to long. Especially later in the game. Main reason why I never really use the save/load for a better goodie hut.
OR Am I a clueless idiot and I still am not getting it?
You can only create maps to start new games on.
AHHH. That is disappointing. It follows more Civ 3 type WB. Explains why I could not see my units. There weren't any to be seen.
So I have two questions:
Are the red squares starting locations for AI?
Do I always have to add AI/CS starting or can I just add where "I " start/resources/land mainpulation and then AI/CS are placed like normal during startup?
If you are looking for a tool that allows you to edit the world during a game, you should look for a mod on Steam Workshop called "Ingame Editor" (search for it under Civ V workshop).
There may be other such mod out there, but I can only recommend this as I'm using it myself, and it's easily available on Steam Workshop.
If you use that mod you have to save and load a game for some changes to take effect, mostly just terrain features and terrain itself
