Movement speed
I'm trying out scenarios, which I haven't really done much before.
I'm playing Mongols, and I don't understand some of the movement things.
I have a horse with 5/5 movement, it travels from a hill outside my territory, to a forested hill in my territory, then another forested hill in my territory. This used all my movement points. I must be missing something, because I thought rough terrain like hills/forest only cost 2.
Things like the great wall can slow you down, and rivers cost 3 I believe, but neither of these were the case.
Is there some other element holding back movement points that I'm not aware of? I'm trying to play on deity, so I definitely need to understand these mechanics.
Thanks!

I don't know about the great wall or rivers, I think rivers are supposed to use all your remaining movement points, but the Mongol scenario was made before the two expansions so maybe that has something to do with it.

Ah yeah, I guess if hills AND forest both reduce by 1, that would make sense. I never thought it worked that way after all these years.

I'm also having an issue in the Mongol scenario, where I'm pillaging a cotton field, and my unit doesn't heal at all. It says in the UI that it will heal 25 points, but the health doesn't go up at all. Is there a hidden rule that Keshik can't heal or something? I thought this would definitely be part of the strategy.
