Civ V, Samsung TV, weird sizing

I don't know what's happening between my laptop and TV. I'm playing Civ V on my tv through my laptop. The game looks small and the font extra small. This isn't always the case. By some unknown miracle, my tv will resize the game to a normal, playable, readable size. However, I accidentally disconnected the HDMI cable to the tv last night and I'm back to the mini size. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Does anyone have a fix that doesn't require my set up to automatically change it back unprompted as if by miracle?

When you say mini size, do you mean the game screen does not cover the whole TV size?
OR do you mean something else?

sounds like a scaling or composition issue?

i use 2 tv's as monitors, main 55in k and 50in 1080p with my desktop, but havent seen that type of issue.

but in the past i have seen that happen and coincidentally on laptops.

that forum barely has anyone using it and the devs dont use it either, so likely no help over in that forum.

and last time i was in there helping people and posting my guide to fix the launcher issue the devs never fixed, the only mod left modding that forum, banned me claiming i was spamming, the ban was for like a week if i remember correctly lol.

Prior to banning and removing Firaxis games I think they used a toggle to make the UI bigger. That's at least how most games did it back then like those running Unity. It could be that the game isn't picking up the autoconfig anymore which means you have to toggle it manually.

oh, ya i dont really like them either, but i still play civ 5, without their adware launcher ;)
