Why isn't CIv 5 on sale for the Winter sale but Civ 6 is?

Civ V rarely goes on sale. Probably because they want people playing the most recent game so that they can continue to sell DLC. Civ V has been a completed game for years and is no longer supported. Civ V is also a better game and they need sales on Civ VI to entice people to buy it.

Civ 5 has been a main stay on sales year after year after year. At some point there might not be a point to put it on sale anymore. Everyone that most likely will buy it already has.

It's kinda like the same reason that Milk and Eggs never go on sale, but Sugar-Frosted Sugar-Bombs ("The Cereal with Absolutely NO Nutritional Value!") goes on sale all the time.

Milk and Eggs will sell at a competitive price, no matter what you do (as in, the same price as everywhere else). People always buy Milk and Eggs. But you have to actively convince people to buy that other garbage.

Civ 6 is made for the 12-15 yr olds who want an easy path and cartoonish style art, it boggles my mind what has become of the game after part 4 and 5 were so good

I was in their official chat group. Just quit it today.
All that was happening in that group was kids spamming in group chat everyday with stickers and smileys they got free/achieved from Steam.

You have to pay money if you want your game to go sale. Thats why developers don't bother with civ5

Publisher is a greedy big nose and pushes 6 hard. most likely because despite higher player numbers people still praise V and shun 6. They capitalize on this as well by asking for max price all the time.

And it happened again. My friends don't want to play walt Disney burp (civ6) and are waiting for a discount on Civ5. Apparently it doesn't make sense.

I've seen the complete edition of Civ5 on MMOGA for about 7€. Maybe that helps?
