Once I was even denaunced when meeting napoleon first time, the turn after he made war on me. I did manage to teach him a lesson that lasted 2000 years, 4 well placed archers with a general, a few workers to make roads and forts. They got all promotions that the game allows, they became more powerfull than crossbows or longbows.
Paris burned for 2000 years before I allowed peace. I never marched on the city, just rain terror down on the city and any unit they sendt out, workers and settlers too, no mercy.
It was so much fun to make ranged attacks every turn for such a long time, hearing the women and children scream and cry was like music, giggles.
After that no nation dared to denaunce me throught the game.
After a while they will realise though and try to start a war with you. Its good if they have their cities spread out as you can box each city in. If their cities are clustered together then a large army would be needed to do that
