Can't figure out why I can't raze this city. Help?
I just captured Beshbalik, Khan's second city, and I don't have the option to raze the city. I'm playing as Alexander, I have BNW installed. The option for "No city razing" is not clicked.

Once I was really frustrated when I couldn't raze one of Gajah's cities until I realized that it's because it was one of his unique resource cities which cannot ever be razed. But for the life of me, I can't think of a reason why I cannot raze this ordinary city.

Is it a bug, or am I just missing something that makes this city "unrazeable"? I have no mods installed, and all options are normal, and this isn't a scenario.

The only reason I can think of is that it may be a Holy City. Holy Cities cannot be razed.

I'll be damned. You nailed it. I have never seen the AI make anything but its capitol city their holy city. This is definitely a first, and I've played over 1000 hours. I wonder what made Khan make it the holy city. Thanks.

If you are able (and can afford it), a GProphet and an Inquisitor will solve that problem . If there are any surviing buildings, you may sell them 1/turn; hang on to the Wonders, and raze at will .
