@donald23. I run civ 5 nowadays on a 8gb HP that is an average gaming spec machine. I used to play this game just so you know, on a 3.5gb acer that was not optimised for gaming in any way. A machine I used to get other graphical glitches in the game, like textures and the like stretching into the sky, and circles of light and all sorts, but NEVER cities vanishing. So I do not understand why it happens on a better computer for gaming with over double the memory. Nor do I understand why this has only been happening to me since mid 2014
