On a related note. I love Windows 10 and I hate Windows 11 with every fiber of my being. And this little problem sure didn't help things in that regard.
I do not seem to be given that free offer anymore of updating to Windows 11 despite me seeing this free offer multiple times; although, there could be other ways of changing to Windows 11 as well even if it was meant to be advertised for a limited time only. My issue is not necessarily towards Windows, but worried that I will not be able to play older PC games when upgrading to Windows 11. If I could stay on Windows 10 forever I would without being forced to switch to Windows 11 I would. Some older games for example seem to run poorly on newer Windows such as The Sims or The SIms 2 for example. I do not own either of those games, but I have seen complaints before that these games do not work good on Windows 10 and actually work better if the PC is older than Windows 10.
They changed the required specifications for Windows 11. Something to do with the minimum CPU. I have a older PC running Windows 10 and I stopped getting notifications when the change was made because the PC no longer met the specs for Windows 11. Maybe that's what happened to you?
Maybe, but I would have to double check on that. My computer is specifically designed for gaming. If it was not I would probably not be playing any Sims games or Civilization games.
What worked for me was not running in full screen but in 1920 x 1200 and with video settings reduced to as low as possible for most options. This way I can play but in a window that is a quarter of my monitor screen.
I used to run with all options as high as possible and full screen on 3840 x 2160. With this, if I'm lucky, the game will loadand I can start a game. But when transitting from startup to actual gameplay videio screen update goes faulty and it puts resource icons on the screen in repeating diagonal sequences. Sometimes the game is responsive but screen update is not working. Not playable.
