Problems with Directx 10/11 after windows update
After Windows 10 installed a bigger windows updates two days ago, i am not able to launch the
Game with directx 10/11.

With directx 9 it works but the graphics look much worser.

I already tried to restore my pc to the time before the update, but nothing has changed.

I also tried to reinstall the game, but when the download was nearly finished(100%)
a error ocoured, so that the download could not completed.

Steam said at the download that there are missing data rights.
I solved this problem with switching off a running programm at the task manager.

After the reinstall same problems like before.
I have not used mods, but have the complete edition of Civ 5

Before the windows update the game has worked without problems on windows 10

I have had the same problem, I have found the solution here:

Go to: documents>my games>sid meier's Civilization 5>graphicsSettingsDX11.ini ( open it )>scroll down the page of notepad untill you find [ user settings ], below it you find FullScreen = 1 change 1 to 0. Close the notepad page clicking on Save Changes Yes, then close the other open pages.
Go to steam and run Civ 5, after the the game have been loaded, go to Option>Graphic Settings and put a tick on Full Screen mode, then a little window will be open to confirm your selection and you click on yes. At this point, the game changes in Full Screen mode and you can normally play a new game or resume a previous seved game.
After you have saved your game, or not, before exiting the game you go to options> graphics options and deselect Full Screen mode and click yes to confirm your choice. The game returns in windowed mode and now you can exit. Remember to do all the steps every time you play Civ 5. If you have some doubt in what mode is Civ 5 game, you can verify it going in your documents and check your FullScreen status: remember it have to be 0 before and after you play the game.
I know, it could seem a little complicated, but it is really easy after the first time.
I hope to have been clear in my comment.
I am Italian and play the game in Italian, so it could be some difference among the original English name and the Italian translation, but I hope it was enough clear to be understood.

I was able to solve the problem in another way.

I tried to update my graphic card driver( Geforce 940mx), with the Geforce experience programm from nvidia.

Then it worked normal without problems.
I didn't get this problem...
