If only because it wasn't working in any way close to how you thought it would.
Multiplayer is totally different thing, but this game is not for MP games against random players... those games will never end properly. MP works only if you are in a group that plays together with agreed rules.

That being said, there is really no RTS AI that can match humans ability to think and adapt based on ever changing conditions. Most RTS are heavily scripted to react to triggers or follow a certain predictable path.
For an RTS I still play SC:FA, but it too has to cheat to make it a challenge.
