For something completely ridiculous, the Highlands map as the Incas, or the Great Plains as Poland or the Huns.
I played a lot of TSL maps as well.
Very true, Mesopotamia is also a very good memory to me. Call it a smart map..
Any other feedback or advice on maps to play?
Some civs love Forests therefore arborea etcetc.
I go with the more traditional maps but i tried "fractal" and liked it. It's pretty randomized with some normal landforms & some snaky areas & medium sized bodies of water. It also seems pretty balanced in terms of resources etc.
I usually play continents and earth but more land would be nice. I may have to try Lakes
I make the map large or huge but limit the civs to 8 or 10 with the same amount of CS so it leaves more space between, makes transporting an army tricky as you get too far from home and the AI attacks from the other side
