The intro music for BNW...
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SUCKS! It's cool for the final scene in an inspirational space movie, but not for an intro to a game I will be loading up hundreds of times. I also don't like the fact that, to avoid it, I have to turn the sound off before I close the game and then re-enable it once I have loaded a game and then TURN IT OFF AGAIN! There's an option to skip the beginning cutscene, why not mute the intro music and nothing else? Vanilla wasn't this irritating. My game takes forever to load, too, so every time I want to play I get to listen to the whole thing at least once before tabbing out mutes it.

Does anyone else have such a passionate hatred for BNW's intro music? Vanilla was WAY better. Feels more like Civ # and like an actual menu song. (Civ 3 music is still better in general)
Finally, Is there a way for me to make it so the Vanilla intro music plays instead of BNW? Thanks.

I don't remember vanilla intro music, i played it for a few hours only in 2010 (very boring for me). But i think it was the same, maybe i am wrong.
I use headphones for my computer, when Civ loads they are off my head, i use them when gameplay starts, the Civ map.
I thought i was the biggest Civ intro hater in the world .......

In:

steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/Assets/Sounds/Streamed/Music

there is a file named 'OpeningMenu_Proto_1'.

Copy this file and place it into:

steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/Assets/DLC/Expansion2/Sounds/Streamed/Music

and rename it to OpeningMenu_Exp2 (rename the old OpeningMenu_Exp2 to something like OpeningMenu_Exp2old).

You now have the pre-DLC music as your menu music.

Sir, you are my hero. You are a God! Now, who else hates the BNW intro and menu music as much as I do?

Nothing is better than Civ 3's music. It's perfect for an ambient setting but also something to get you pumped and excited to play. It's nice for just being there and being good. Some of the war music in Civ V is nice, but 95% of that music is nation specific so it doesn't last long and the rest is european and if you're not a european nation it won't play.

Civ 3 has an intro and intro music that gets you hyped and excited for the game where Civ V BNW is intrusive, annoying, loud and distracting with its intro. I miss some of the features in Civ 3. CIV V DOESN'T EVEN HAVE MAP TRADING!!! What the ♥♥♥♥!?

it gets annoying when i spend more than half an hour trying to play a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ multiplayer game without being kicked or dealing with kids

Turn the game music off and make your own playlist in iTunes.

Sometimes i play Civ with no music and sounds, i don't use my headphones and it's silent playing, i just watch the screen, it's an interesting kind of playing for me i'd say, i can think and play in a different way with no sounds.
I am one of those few very old fashion people who have a computer CD-DVD drive, a music CD player and buy music CDs regularly. My Hi-Fi CD player is next to my computer, sometimes i listen to some CD music while playing Civ.
You can listen to internet music with your favorite browser or computer music files with your favorite media player too while playing Civ.
The end result of all these is, i hate Civ5 intro, i can't stand it.

Dude, Civ 3, man. All the way. Better music (in general. I like the war music that triggers for Civ V), some better mechanics such as map trading and science trading, early production isn't as slow as a snail, turns don't take forever to process, and it's just more pleasing to fight with the units there than here in most cases. And what I miss most was the intro cutscene for Civ 3 Complete. That music always gave me an orgasm.

After all my nonsense, my conclusion was that i dislike Civ5 intro. I love my way of telling arguments.
I played Civ3 a bit on my friend's computer just before the Civ4 release. I didn't like Civ3 much, then i bought Civ4 and the expansions and Civ4 was much better than Civ3. I think Civ4 was the first "complete" Civ game, gave the gamer a good overall experience.
Civ3? No thanks.

You just didn't give Civ 3 enough time. I would still go back and play it if I had it. I think I'll get it again soon. It has such a nice feel and atmosphere to it and I think you really should give it a longer shot. If you really don't like it I understand, but the music for it is still awesome to me.
