Best strat and civ to get the highest gdp and production?
I am quite new to choosing civs. I usually do random civilization. My favorite playstyle is to amass a great amount of gdp and production in the hundreds, and just use the money to buy everything I need. What civilization is the most helpful toward this strat?

Venice.

You can't choose what to build in puppeted cities though.
Seems like too much of a risk imo

Play on Archipelago. I won the first game I played as Venice. I think it's the easieist civ to win on Archipelago, though England is damn good.

Germany is good too; Hanse plus lots of trade routes (you'll want to build Colossus if at all possible) Any maybe Egypt? (I haven't played Egypt much)
Thanks guys! I'll put these ideas into use today.

Germany hands down in my opinion if you're looking for both gold and production.

Venice if all you care about is money. BTW you can purchase buildings and units in puppetted cities as Venice.

Portugal is another good money-hogging nation. It's not as good as Venice in making money, but it still makes a lot and you can play as a regular old Civ spamming cities in the middle of Shaka's territory and building roads to connect your cities 100 hexes apart.
The Shoshone have an incrediable start and can set you up for a very strong game. One of my personal favourites imo. Their bonuses don't directly affect production/gold but enable you to get double the ammount of wrokable tles per city, allow you to chose your reward from ruins and give you combat bonuses and some strong units.
There are a number of civs which you my find to your liking
