But yeah, manual trashing, just like with any games I know of.
So, just go to the save folder on c drive and throw out to recycle bin normally?
I don't want to do anything fishy or not recommended. (Don't want any unintended side effects to the game or my computer)
I meant throwing it straight into the recycle bin as opposed to deleting it through the application itself.
I've had problems deleting save game files in the past. Sometimes, if you put the save files straight into the recycle bin you get unwanted side effects in the program or the computer. That's why I'm wondering.
This was a while ago (maybe 5+ years) so maybe steam has handled these issues but I don't know for sure.
Still wondering about a definitive answer to my question. How do safely mass delete civ 5 saves without unintended or harmful side effects? (See above for full description).
I know it's a simple question but I've had problems before deleting save games that ended up causing weird side effects to my computer or the game itself.
Just want to do it in a safe way
Thanks again.
If however you just delete the folders that people told you to delete, then you will not run into any problems.
If you're really, really paranoid about it, and you seem to be, then just create a backup of the \Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization-Folder before deleting the savegame folders, that way, if you manage to mess this up somehow, you can just use the backup to restore everything to the way it was before.
Unless of course you've managed to make it so your computer doesn't start anymore, in that case, you'll need the help of an expert.
Thanks! Shouldn't be a problem now. Will do.
