how do u like to play ?

i love being small and rich
so i gave portugal a shot since u get double the trade gold > or i wanna try venice but it is allowed to have 1 city eveb wihtout 1 city challenge but has double trade routes = money

if u like naval warfare
england and ottoman i think

if u like domination
take the civs with battle advantage
japan units always deal 100% dmg no matter how weakend they are

i think aztecs , french, spain and can handle domination well

let us know wht u prefer

i thibk aggressiv and diplomatic will conflict eqch other

u either make ur neighbours hate u and declare war on u so that u mininize warmongering and wont get bashed when the world is embargoing u drom trades and im sure ull less likely win a diplomatic win.

id say start small get spies and close city states on ur side a few ai teams they will always vote for u and u might wait for inc DoWs and take a few cities or liberate a few fallen ones so ur warmongering is little as possible it will take a while doe :/
what about factions like the zulu, chinese and others?

If you're aggressive, you'll probably love the Zulu, Mongols, or Huns. They're all designed to go on the warpath relatively early in the game, especially the Huns- it's completely possible to wipe out another Civ within the first ten turns if you're playing as the Huns.

Germany, Sweden, Greece, Arabia, England and the Dutch (Netherlands) would suit you fine. Germany and England are more domination oriented the others are more diplomatic. I would list Carthage too, but Carthage kind of sucks so I would say try them out but don't be surprised if by the Renaissance era you start lagging behind.

Greece. You have strong early-game units to take out a neighbor, and all the CS's love you for the whole game -- you will be allied to about half of them without even trying.

India is a fun warmonger.

I'm just finishing up a game now as the Celts where my goal is to conquer every AI city on the map, and keep most of them. (Liberty, Honor, Commerce, Order) I have about 35 cities right now, I'm allied to all but one CS (I could easily have that one too, but I didn't want to trigger a diplomatic victory) and I'm taking about 2 cities per turn at this point. My happiness is about 40. And I was friends with most of the AI's for much of the game even while I was warmongering by playing diplomatic games. I'd jump into other people's wars, bribe unpopular AI's to attack my best friends and then denounce them for it, propose world congress resolutions that everybody likes (World's Fair, arts funding), etc.
