Recommendations fighting the Queen
What are your recommendations for fighting the Queen as a solo player? My issue is that the Queen is easily outhealing the damage I do to her. After a while the battle stalls as the lifebar goes up again and too many bugs are spawned by her. I dont know If I mastered the combat system well enough before fighting the Queen. Have you got any tips, which weapons, tactics to use? TL;DR I just went in there, F5 > devcommands > killall > problem solved, I have got no time for that, thank you.

I found this short strategy guide: https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Boss_strategies#The_Queen

I haven't fought her myself, because I wanted a new seed after I entered the mistlands.

I usually kill her by staying in a corner and beating her whenever she comes close and shooting arrows when she's far away.
You'll need bonemass skill and health potions for that, also carapace armor and a good melee weapon (I've used mistwalker).
With high weapon skill level it is possible to beat her in less than 5 minutes.
I didn't try this in months tho, not sure if it still works.

As of now the Queen has 12.500 health, more than any of the bosses before. I tried to kill her with a lvl 4 silver sword. I dont know by how much this is inferior to mistwalker fully upgraded.

I wonder how high that weapon skill level needs to be in order to deal significant damage. To beat Queen in less than 5 minutes sounds totally unrealistic, if you ask me. I did only come close to cutting down 25% of her health in 10 minutes maybe.

Don't think a silver swords ideal, afaik she has no weakness so spirit damage does nothing to her. She's only resistant to piercing so any other form of damage is ideal.

Personally I used magic to greater effect.

A third of the damage from the silver sword is spirit damage, the queen is immune for spirit damage. So the silver sword is one of the worst weapons to use against the queen. It's better to try with another weapon.

I recently fought her for the first time (despite having 4 play-throughs up to her, I didn't want to lose her drops like I did with Yagluth when Mistlands came out) and I was surprised that she wasn't too bad. I fought her as a solo player.

So, some tips:

Items:

The Feather cape is very handy. It keeps you from taking fall damage when she knocks you back, plus if you get in trouble or run out of stamina, you can intentionally jump off and that will give you several seconds of recovery before she and the adds catch up.

Bows and Crossbows do very little damage to her, even with surprise.

Demolisher is awesome for taking out the adds. The other AOE hammers would also work OK I suspect if you don't have a Demolisher crafted.

Mistwalker worked well. Just realize you won't get a ton of swings in her like you can with some of the other bosses, as she reacts really fast. Two hits, maybe three before she will retaliate.

I hear the bombs are also worth taking to help with the adds, but didn't think to bring them myself (DOH!), so don't know for sure.

Poison Resistance Mead is a must. She has both an AOE poison attack and a bite poison attack, so have several on you and immediately down one as you enter the arena.

Bring a Mistlight. The lower and middle parts of the arena are covered in thick mist, with very little lighting otherwise.

I used two health foods and one stamina food. Use the best food you have. Bring some extra (it's a long fight). And bring plenty of Health and Stamina mead potions (besides the Poison Resistance).

Strategy:

When you first go in, assuming the boss is not right there on the ground floor, work around the area and take out all the seeker eggs and broodlings. This will help out as despite being very weak and small, those little bugs can actually get in the way during the fight, which will make fighting the Queen much harder. As you move around and up, keep destroying the eggs while you can until you find the Queen.

When fighting the Queen, try to avoid having your back to the dropoffs. Otherwise her attacks knockback will shoot you out into space. If you put your back to the wall, it minimizes the knockback, giving you more chances to land an attack on her. Just look out that the adds and broodlings don't hem you so much that you can't get away when you need to avoid the Queen's attacks.

Kill the Seekers as soon as you see them appear. It's tempting to just ignore them and focus on the Queen, but if one doesn't take them out they will soon become a major issue, as the Queen causes more of them to come show up like every 20 seconds.

The Queen seems to have a weakspot on the end of her tail. And there will be times where she throws her arms up and roars for a few seconds. That is a window to get behind her and hit her for some decent damage.

The entryway is a good place to recover when hit hard. Get back there and allow your health to come back up. The Queen is too large to follow you there, so you just have to deal with Seekers and Broodlings that can reach you. And they seemed to mostly not want to go in there but remained outside.

If you do the fight on the uppermost floor of the arena, one advantage is that you can see your enemies, as there is little mist there. However, the Queen does have a surprise attack she occasionally uses where she pops up right out of the floor, so be aware of that.
Also, you can intentionally jump off (if you have the Feather cape equipped) to create some space.

Bonemass (power) is well worth it for this fight. It will dull out her attacks considerably. It will only last for part of the fight, but it helps greatly.

So overall, kill the eggs and little bugs in the beginning, then work on her, switching to the Seekers whenever they appear. Look for openings where you can get to her tail for significantly more damage. Don't rush the fight, its more of a wear-her-down grind. And jump off and retreat to the entryway if you get banged up.

Oh, one more thing. Bring a backup weapon. One thing I did notice after the fight was over is that Mistwalker was getting close to breaking. Having another weapon just in case would have been handy.

Hope this helps

Hope this helps.

I actually had a fairly good run with the draugr fang+fire arrows against her with summoned skeletons, and then switching with other weapons as the need arose. While each shot on her from the bow itself didn't inflict all that much damage, stacked fire+poison DOTs actually chipped her down fairly quick as far as supplementing the rest of my damage, especially since the skeletons kept aggro off me while she was steadily being poison/burn ticked.

Darkbirt has a good point. The Silver Sword is probably not the weapon to use, due to the Queen not taking spririt damage and the low non-spirit damage the Silver Sword does. Try the Mistwalker or one of the other Mistlands weapons instead.
Killed the queen the first time 2 days ago, it took very long including 3 deaths, but the damage with magic was ok, my strategy was: go inside, spawn 3 skeletons, cast protect on you and the skeletons, aggro the queen with fire magic (was on top the very first time), go back to entrance, where you can hide from her attacks, peak from time to time and use ice magic, when she spawns mobs switch to fire magic
you should also place a portal in front of the entrance if you die, so you can go back fast or if your resting buff expired
also don't go to far away from the safespot if you peak, i died 2 of my 3 times because a seeker was between me and my safespot and didn't let me go back
