Game no longer starts

Crashes to desktop after the two splash pages followed by a little loading box with Unity.2019.etc. I even deleted the whole save game folder out of appdata/locallow and it still doesn't load, while also restoring the the save game folder which I can see when I go back into explorer. I reinstalled and it still does it. This after having played the game for like 350 hours. Any ideas?

I have the inventory mod, pause game mod, and first person view mod. I reinstalled too so I don't think they're in there now.

yep unistalled game without mods and works fine now, didnt think of it lol

Yeah I had to do a clean install, so after uninstalling I went into explorer and killed all the remaining directories and files, then reinstalled. Of course now all my level 4 padded armor is gone *sigh*.

My game does the same thing, I have done most of the recommendations to fix it that I found online, except the ones that are too difficult for me to do like resetting things to manufacturing and such. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, no mods, i have the required specifications to run the game, I tried running as an admin, unchecking all those things in steam and nothing. I am crushed. :(

My game will no longer load, either, showing the two splash boxes, then the little unity window, then crash. I play on a group server and my own and can't get either to load. I really don't want to uninstall and reinstall, losing all of my progress and gear. I do have mods.

One of the latest Windows 10 updates for version 20H2 (KB1501330) has been causing a lot of serious issues for PC users. Try going into windows repair and seeing if you have any corrupted files. The best way to do this is when you go into your settings to manually check for updates you will see a get help in blue letters on the right side of the screen. Click that in the window that pops up an icon for contact us should appear. Click that and that will get in direct contact with a Microsoft Tech and they will guide you through the process. Its pretty simple. Advice taking screenshots of the instructions for future reference. It caused problems with my Dot.Net Framework. Those were the files that had been corrupted by that update for me.

I just bought the game from HB yesterday, 5/25, and got up this morning excited to play. I have no mods and this is a first install. It's crashing repeatedly, and I've tried all the usual fixes (admin/compatibility/reinstall). It's usually frozen on the first page, where you can't even click start game or settings. Once I actually heard music on this page and clicked settings to try the suggestion of turning down resolution, but it crashed so I never got that far. Another time, I was able to click start game (since settings was a no go) but the screen pixelated and froze on what looks like character creation/selection. At this point, I had to do a hard reboot, because everything froze, and I couldn't alt tab or CAD out of it. I'm running Win 10 on an Asus ROG gaming laptop with GTX970. Any help would be appreciated. I've been dying to play it. Thank you!
