Any way to increase brightness at night?
I've tried messing with the different settings, however there is no option to adjust the gamma in-game. At the moment the game is almost unplayable at night, even with a torch. I enjoy the game but it's very frustrating having to stop what I'm doing the second it gets dark because I can't see, especially if I'm pretty far from my main base. A quick Google search shows I'm not the only one with this issue. Has anyone here found a solution?

Yes, set yourself on fire. You will not only be able to see, but anything else will be able to see that youre crazy too, and will summarily wander over to burn to death, because Greydwarves have no brains. Just wood.

I agree, the lack of brightness options makes zones like the swamp unplayable for me during a sunny day because the game simply isn't bright enough to make out anything with any notable back lighting in the room.

Sounds like you need to adjust your monitors brightness, if you can't see during the DAY in the swamp it must be a pure black screen at night.

Once you've found the Trader there's an item you can buy that helps you see at night & in crypts.

Turn SSAO off in graphics settings for night or in crypts but it may make daytime look too bright or washed out, so be sure to turn it back on. Plus everything looks better with it on in daylight. Just assume turning SSAO off for night or crypts is your toons eyes adjusting...

it appear to me that in some area like swamp, a "black veil" is applied at night on the screen making it darker than other biomes. i noticed it while standing on my boat on the limit between black forest / ocean / swamp.

Get a decent monitor and its NP. That said, cmon devs put gamma adjustment in game, it would help out a lot of your customers.
