being able to transport ore thru ports as settings is huge
gonna be 180 when I dont friggin DIE each time in swamps and need to call the bloody discord to help get my body back. And As well as an option to not drop items/gear all that is a HUGE

Its a nice feeling have a portal set up and lugging ore thru its so much fun that way/easier for me at least what do you guys think?

Afaik this will never change, only via mods. this has been a topic of debate even when the game is in its testing phase.
Ore via portals is too OP and negates the need for FOBs (outposts) or sea travel mostly.
Just set up a small outpost to repair+bed and a portal for other stuff if needed, load up your ship and sail back.

with the next update world modifiers will enable this - you can put your own decisions on various types of difficulty and comfort then

Looking forward to it.

Yes, the new settings that will be available to use will make the game less grindy for players that have very little time to play while still giving hardcore players the option to play the game as originally designed (or even make it more difficult). This might generate more sales for the devs and let them add even more features.

I'm not looking forward to it since I am pretty sure I won't be using it

don't mean to sound rude, but you don't know very far (Assuming AFAIK is as far as i know) . OP is a direct commentary on how nice the new difficulty sliders are in public test branch.

its not just going to change, it has changed. and best of all its a choice

Agreed. Cannot wait for this update to drop in public.

I super can't find a full list of the new settings keywords, not even sitting through all the reaction videos. Anyone have a text doc?

that means adding parental control. i'm darn near a weeks walk away from home base and my shops and main food supply. so i had to set up shuttle system to get my stuff back. each equip't with basic supply's ,enough to get me to the next outpost I try to leave a couple of slots open, just in case i find something important along the way or i mark it. then when I get to an easy to defend clearing i set a base with portal and maybe a days walk from my main base so i can walk my ore in. seems to work well enough except when i do something stupid, like forget to food up before a raid! they can really get me bugged when there banging on my walls! so i try not to stay in one place to long. mining ore is the problem as i mine till dark and they hate noise so i set up a camp fire down in the trench under an over hang and stay quite for a while till things settle down up there then make it back to my nearest hooch and stash my days labor. I just play the way it was meant to be played. aka, first play through.

Well Ive started playing this game when it was still the alpha version, joined the testing team when it wasnt even in Steam and Bonemass was still WIP and all that time Dvoid and the other ppl stated ores would never be portable so seeing that changed (not able to play as much anymore due to rl) is something I find quite sad as the devs always kept true to their vision, wonder why it shifted.

Death of the Author, videogames edition.

Thing is you never know what game you've actually made until the audience show up. Blizzard thought they were making Warcraft back in the day, but it turned out to be DOTA.

Yeah, they've even still got the thread about it and the stickied thread in the Suggestions forums has it's status as "denied."

[EDIT] Does make one wonder if the other "denied" popular suggestions will eventually be implemented. Like planting berry bushes, etc.

Personally it makes me happy. I'm glad it is a modifier people can turn on and off if they so choose. As someone who doesn't find the grind of just walking back and forth for hours on end to build things its perfect. I'm more than willing to gather all the materials. I just don't want to walk/sail halfway across the map 10 times to get anything built.

OFF BY DEFAULT.

Since it is a solo or co-op game and the choices are each of ours to make, why anyone cares what others do is a mystery to me. The devs are making accessibility for more players an offering because they have chosen to, of their own free will... and probably a few more millions in the bank.

Play the way you want. Don't police others. You're welcome.
