Regarding ores through portals
Hello vikings!
We receive a lot of suggestions for adding the possibility to transport ore through portals. We appreciate the feedback you give us, but this is something we currently have no plans on changing. While we understand that it may be inconvenient for some, we’ve also seen that the limitation improves the gameplay as we’ve intended it to be, with more traveling, exploring and base building! :steamhappy:

Edit: Use at your own risk; Unrestricted Portals is an unofficial mod.

Please Let us TP Ore, It just pads game time by not letting us
Honestly I see almost no Value in restricting us from teleporting ores. The only reason I think its there is to pad game time and make the game feel longer by making us play Deaths Stranding with our ore hauls.

1: We already have to explore and move farther out to even set up a teleporter in the first place.

2: the Challenge of this isnt really a challenge and more of a tedium, im alright with giving us a challenge to work for stuff but this is more just tedious chore work and a time eater for no real value. Boat trips are non eventful and nothing happens durring them. and unlike smelting ores which is also an activity involved with waiting, at least durring that you can do other things. but as of right now, Boat travel is auto piloting a mount back to base for 20+ minutes

3: If you are afraid of people getting ores back to base to fast then make it so you cant build teleporters and they are found in the world and you make an item that links to teleporters together. This way it incentives Exploration still while also making teleports actually useful.

4: also if you are afraid of people getting ores to fast then don't allow world hopping, because as of right now its more efficient to boot up a new world run to an ore farm it, log out and log back in other server in your base and put ore in chest. so why not just let people teleport ores?

5: Honestly Just add a server toggle when making a server. allow players to choose tp ores or not, everyone wins

No, please let it in the game :)

No. Another time no.

Why this always happens, again, and again.

I feel like Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow.

It actually doesn't even pad the game properly - if anything it discourages players from actively building and exploring far away from their main forges.

Like, you can't even build with stone without carrying 2 iron bars with you to make a Stonecutter :steamfacepalm:

It would be bad... Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.

Exactly the game discourages you leaving a base, because if you go out mine all that ore and die on your way back or spend 2 hours hauling back to (where most players probably build their first base in the begging area) you are exhausted. I see no added value to this limitation other than annoyance.

Having bosses not right next to the alter you spawns on, is just padding game time, by same logic... After all, that is the goal of the game, kill the bosses. Everything else is just "padding".

2: hauling ores back and traveling through dangerous regions just makes it feel like even building a base is punishing if its too far from where your new ores are. and if this is the goal then let us pick up work benches and forges to move them.

There's a Mod for that

You invalidate all modes of physical transport after the very first time going somewhere. You dont need carts, you dont need boats, you dont need to explore the world or interact with things. By removing this "padding" you destroy the pacing of the game, and it could probably beaten in under 5 hours solo.

To be honest, you can skip most armors and build a tree house in the swamp to skelt iron and then just go for iron padded armor since you kill the goblins with a bow.
I hope the merchant will have bars for sale in the near future

Use Mods for that, no need to change

Good lord, THIS topic again... what is it, the 2,382nd on the subject?

1) Use a mod
2) Cheese maps

It takes away from experiences and challenges you might be forced to encounter while taking ore back to base. if it's really a problem for you you can always just spawn it in. I personally like the fact you cant just bypass the whole map every time you go to base and have to boat ore there instead. Makes the game feel more real to me.

yeah because the game has no content other than Death Stranding Simulator disguised as a viking building game.

If TPing ores will break the game, then why even have TP's in the first place? if the point is to make it so exploring is dangerous and you want to incentive players making hubs, then why even have a tp structure and make them walk EVERY time? wanna bring your wood to new location use the carts then ... why limit only one type of resource but not the rest?

I'm fine if they wanna make carts useful and have you make roads, but if that is the goal then remove TP's entirely or make them random spawns and not player built.

Otherwise why limit only one type of resource? it just seems tedious than actual value added
