How do I park my ship safely?

Im having a hard time parking my longship when I go on adventures. If I park it in swamp or plains biome it gets destroyed by mobs in a few minutes.

So I usually try to find meadows or black forest near the biome that I want to explore, but often I find no safe place for the ship.

How do you solve that problem if you for example want to explore plains when coming with a ship?

Normally (always), after you leave the area that you have cleared they let your boat be alone because no one spawns there until you re-enter the area. But isn't it part of the fun to find + create a safe spot for the ship?

If you break it up with an axe in shallow water you get all the parts back (make sure shallow though, nails sink), then either stow them in a chest or take them with you.

Even in meadows you have to careful with spawns.

Boars swim out and sink boats for whatever reason.

Once you park it drop a bench and make sure the boat is in the radius, after clearing mobs the bench prevents spawns. It also lets you repair the ship.

Clear the area of mobs. If you aren't near nothing new can spawn in. You can additionally drop down a work bench or standing torch or whatnot to create a 20m no spawn zone (however mobs do aggro on work benches.)
I usually park next to a big rock on the shore if available as it allows you to leave the boat in deeper water but still jump right back in.

Unfortunately, this is the best solution at the moment state of the game.

I never have problems with this. I do try to make note of the position of enemies and not park too close to them. When you first get in view of a shoreline, the positions of enemies give you an idea of where spawn points are located. Aside from that, I usually try to find a rock jutting out into the water to use as a natural "dock". After several hundred in-game days my boat has only ever been destroyed after I got killed near it.

I park just within site of a plains or swamp biome, and a bit off of shore and swim to shore. I've had no issues with leaving it parked doing that personally.

I always destroy my boats. There are just too many things that can destroy it - not the least are some buggy physics were even in water that is too deep to stand the boat constantly takes damage as if hitting a rock.

Then so far you were lucky.
I had boars swim out like 30m to a boat, same with leeches. Spawnpoints are not all fixed either. There are many things that can destroy your boat.

as mentioned before:

place chest in a tree
smash boat - put material in chest
return and simply build the boat again

I would just build a stakewall around the ship itself. At the very least it will keep the mobs from being interested in it most of the time, and if they are...well, they have to get through the stakewall.

Bonus if you put spikes on the outsite to damage mobs.

if you plan to hang out at the place, eg a portal, you can raise the terrain until its swimming when a wave comes in, standing when not, and destroy the ship on that to get your stuff back. If you just want to adventure, you can bring along stamina food and park way off and swim it, or find a shallow to destroy it in. For more long term use, build an actual dock that protects it, you can raise terrain out on both sides of it to block enemy, they will not usually swim way around to get at your boat and raising it higher blocks ranged attackers too. Or use that as a foundation for a boathouse etc.

It is almost impossible to fully protect a boat on a small river. Try to use ocean access instead, and it is much easier to block every side off except the water access where they normally just won't bother to work out how to get at it. Also keep it near enough to your base that you can hear anything beating on it.

I'd go one better:
Bring portal materials and have a built portal ready to link at a secure base.
Destroy the ship in shallow water and collect materials
Build and go through the portal back to you base
Store materials in your secure base until you're ready to rebuild the ship and sail again.

I've never have "real" issues with the boat. Like said, clear the area - there will be no new spawns if you are not in the spawn area. Simple as that. If you want to hang around your boat, then build the defenses. If you are happiest working around it, then destroy and store or put to the stuff to another world or what not - this really is not a problem in this game unless you both want to hang around your ship and not build defenses.
