Problem with boars and surtlings farms
Well i just saw some videos making these farms ( breed towers for boars and dig and wall a fire geyser ) and i have some problem
First , i just found a 2 star boar far away of my base , the question is if it is good make these towers if u dont be in there the 95% of your playtime because boars do not reproduce if you not are in the area
And with the surtlings , i just walled 2 geysers ( one with stone , the other with wood ) and these fire creeps do not spawn , the walls are 5-10m in radius and no benchs arround , some solution ? I have not the problem with the boars , because with a portal these surtlings just respawn and die , pick mats and i go away , but if them dont respawn i cant do it haha

Don't bother with boars, you can farm meat very easily in the game.
For Surtlings i have no idea why they don't respawn in your game, i dig a hole in the Swamps and farm them withouth problems.

Unless you have to boat to your base, just have that 2 star chase you home. Up to you if it's worth it. You can make a pen elsewhere but that may quickly become a pain.

Don't wall in your surtling spawn. The walls are probably preventing the spawning. Just dig so there's water all around it. They spawn, they die, you go hop in the pool and collect. IIRC they spawn every 5 RL minutes if you are in the area.

Did you move the portal when you built the walls around the flame geysers? On our server we've seen that surtlings don't spawn if a portal is placed too close.

Our experience has been that walls (at least stone walls) relatively close to the geyser will not prevent the spawns, but a portal being too close will.

Fair enough. My bad then.

Digging too much around the surtling spawners turns them off. Sometimes they will spawn when you walk into the area before the terrain fully renders, but in general, it will turn them off.

Anyway, I would put money that these 'surtling farms' aren't intended and will get patched out at some point, so I'd make hay while the sun shines so to speak :)

Yeah im agree with that too haha , i mean why are fire geysers in a VERY wet and dark place , these only most be in ashen lands
Oh and they most buff surtlings for sure , they are weakers than graydwarfs , thats a real wtf , only are tedius when u want meele them because so much flashy fire in your face but super lame damage haha

Another term for natural gas is..... Swamp Gas.

Do a google image search for "Swamp gas flame"

Why anyway would one need a surtling farm... At the point you survive the swamps surtling cores should not be a problem anymore.

Devs have already confirmed ^this.

Don't get too attached to your Surtling farms.

They are anyway not needed

2 smelter
2 Kilns
20 Cores

2 Teleporter for each (4 Cores)
Start
Trader
Plains Garden

Copper (very optional)
Wolf (Tame base)
Swamp (No more need then)
Iron
Silver

Boss 1 (Optinal should be near start )
Boss 2 (Should be near copper)
Boss 3 (Again should be near Swamp or iron)
Boss 4 (Again should be near Wolf or Silver)
Boss 5 (Can be near the plains garden)

Temp1
Temp2
Temp3

So thats additional
64 cores if you have all 16 Teleporter
32 if you keep it normal

= 52-84 Cores you need.

No real biggie if you play a normal survival game

It's more for the coal. Every time the spawner goes off, it gives you more than a half a stack.
We prepared two spawners that happened to be on the way to several crypts. On the last run, we grabbed 18 stacks of iron ore and all the stacks of coal we could traveling back and forth through the swamp to our outpost dock. In the end, we had enough coal to smelt all 18 stacks of iron.

Its for the coal , they really drop a bunch of coal if u got 2 or 3 geysers conected with portals ( like worm holes ) , one can save like half of the time cutting trees and wait them burn

And already fix my problem , it was walls portals and campfire too close to the geyser

Maybe ill drop the boar farm plan, hunting deers doing random things or exploring one can get a bunch of meat too , much more if u have 2 or 3 doggy wolfs following u

Well, if they turn off the ability to make farms, we need to be able to build traps in a durable and legit way. Cause farming grind is always stupid in every game.
