There are literally thousands of existing threads on this topic.
Imagine being able to construct trinkets and then putting them into your inventory and hopping portal...
I have a tree and animal farm a long ways away from my mainbase (where my forge resides). I have to suffer with primitive setups because I cannot teleport processed ingots through the portal.
Mods should just lock these now.
In fact: I wish we actually HAD mods in this forum.
one world as base/crafting/storage
other world as gathering
simply -> go to gathering world -> start mining -> overweight yourself to 600+ (or more) -> ESC -> logout -> go to storage world -> store everything (you spawn next to chests~~) -> ESC -> logout -> go to gathering world (you spawn on the ore vein you mined) and continue mining
if you use carts/boats to transport ore then you play the game wrong :V
and if you use portal to move around then it's wrong too ;D
even if host doesn't allow mods... just don't tell him mod is installed ;d
game will work as supposed and you will be the only person able to teleport with ore
then to add to your thread
there was a guy before who said that we cannot teleport metals/ore because in vikings lore metals interfere with magic, and portals use this magic thus they don't work
or something like that~~ don't remember it exactly
(it still doesn't explain why we can't TP the 200kg dragon eggs tho)
The balance you speak of is entirely contradicted by the devs themselves by allowing players to have persistent inventories across multiple worlds. If they limited the portals for balance then they are complete idiots. I think they did it for a different reason. Otherwise, they would need to end persistent inventories in order to preserve the balance you claim they are trying to achieve. Change my mind.
devs just did it to cater to the casuals but not to much
and also saved them self to add better road building mechanics and more transportation options.
