Respawn point. Is there something I am not seeing?
Every time I die, do I have to get resources to make tools, build a workbench, a shed for it, and just then make a bed to save my location? otherwise I have to walk for 5 minutes every time I die, something that definitely sucks?. Thanks.

yes your beds are your spawn point. whichever one you used last. why do you think you would have to make a new one each time you die? they don't explode unless maybe whatever killed you breaks your bed too...

You drop all your items when you die. If you want to set a respawn point, you need to craft a bed and use it. This will set your spawn point to that location.

You can have many beds, i.e. many spawn points. But only have 1 active at a time.

A bed will be flagged as 'too exposed' if you haven't built it inside a house, and you won't be able to sleep at the bed (which progresses the night to day, and replenishs your health) unless there is a fire nearby.

I don't quite understand the question here. You only technically need 1 bed and that will be your spawn point until you remove the bed or assign your spawnpoint to a different bed, so you don't have to build a new one each time.

Is it possible you haven't even built any shelter or house yet? You should start by building your first small house and put a bed in it that you can use as spawnpoint.

If you are talking about spawn points while you are out exploring far away from your base, then yes it's probably best to build small shelters everywhere to avoid having to run far away in case you die.

I built many small 3x4 wooden shack shelters everywhere so wherever I go or wherever I am, that there is always a shelter nearby that I can go to to sleep the night away or set my spawn point to.
What a stupid system.

When you die your inventory is left where you died at. If your inventory is too full you won't autoloot your grave and it'll open like a chest.
When you travel long distances, it's a good idea to have a bed or teleporter set up so you can return quickly.

When you die in minecraft where do you spawn? When you die in ark where do you spawn? When you die in Rust, where do you spawn? This is a staple of all recognised survival/crafting games...

Welcome to any survival/crafting game ever. In almost any of these games your respawn point will be the last bed you slept in. If you are far away from your base and bed, feel free to build a small shelter with bed. You don't have to build anything fancy, you literally only need like 20 wood for it, build a bed, put walls on 3 sides around the bed, put in 1 roof piece above and put a fireplace next to it, that's already enough for a quick shelter and respawn point. All you need is like 20 wood on you and 1 minute of time to build.

You don't even need the fire to respawn, just the bed. You need the fire to sleep but without the fire, as long as it is roofed it can be used to respawn indefinitely

Yeah I know xD. I was using the bed as the subject of 'it' so I was trying to avoid confusion :).

lol he probably wants a keepinventory option ;) Then again so would my son so :P
Of survival this game has very little is more a simulator of constructions. On the other hand, when many of you find out that there is a game where every time you die you reappear in a bonfire or a sanctuary, you will not be able to believe it.
