Chests too small?
Does anyone else thing that the default chest size of 10 is way too small? Installed a mod that increases the stack size. My house is pretty much filled with chests right now, everything unorganized. Maybe increase the default chest size for all 3? Anyone else?

You unlock bigger chests later on.

average size really among most games. Stacking chests on top of each other would be a better plan

Would also be nice if workshops could access the inventory of chests inside their area of influence.

Gotta agree, even with bigger chests and stacking 4x chests for things it still is honestly pretty low. Would've helped if chests had stack limit of like 150-300 or so.

you guys are hoarders
It feels small before getting bigger chest but it should feel that way so no, I don't think it is too small, make bigger and better warehouse and more chest is always an option.

i have a shelf running the length of my workshop so i could put all my chests up off the floor and above my crafting stations, i tend to keep relevant materials in the ones above each station for easy access

You can place 1x1 floor tile on top of a chest and place next chest on it. That way you can store them verticaly.

Chests should be at least one row larger.
You should be able to "autostack" any non favorited items (also add favorited/locked items) in your inventory to any and all nearby chests with a button press.
Crafting Tables/Forges should automatically pull resources from their crafting area/workshop area.
Placing a chest near the output of the smelter/kilm should automatically store any items they produce.
Placing a chest near the input of the kilm/smelter should pull required resources and input them into the kilm/smelter.

I'll never understand this approach to storage - who in the world wants to painstakingly transfer stuff from small chests into larger chests once they're well into the game?

Just make large chests available from the start using rarer materials like fine wood!
