Swamp way too hard in SP

Hello im trying this game SP and i find SWAMP Way too hard, ive died in the swamp and i cant get even close to get my body or gear back. Those viking zombies archers make it impossible even to get 2 meters close to my dead ass... any tips besides portal cuz ive already have a portal to swamp?

P.S. - btw i have full bronze gear.

I've died more times to falling trees than I did in the swamp. It was stupid easy.

Or you could use a regular shield and learn to parry. Parry = damage bonus.

I'm basically just farming it right now, went deathless with bronze gear (and troll-hide hood):
+Food: Sausages (a must, tons of HP) + Cooked meat (extra average hp) + lots of Honey (also a must, 5hp regen per tick)
+Eikthyr for extra run
+Poison resistance mead (it's not mandatory but it saves time if you get poisoned)
+Weapons: Mace (mandatory to delete skeletons, surtlings and Blobs- Draugr can use anything but parrying is the best way, bowmans rush them and use secondary mace attack)
+If you find a Wraith, run to any fire fountain and they'll die instantly (I never tried using a torch afterwards 'cause I only found one)
+If you find yourself outnumbered, just run.
+Rush Iron armor set, it turns any swamp enemy into a Greyling.

Same here. I was afraid that I would be undergeared in troll armor. Turns out, the swamp is just lots of jumping from island to island, shooting leeches and draugr and blobs. Easy mode.

I've done the swamp without issues in troll, bronze, and iron. I've used the bow, every shield bronze or higher, dagger, and clubs. I'm pretty sure there's no reason the other weapons wouldn't work.

I've found absolutely nothing that can 1 shot you in the swamp if you have eaten some food. It's pretty generous in that you get that warning shot every time so you can avoid getting hit a second time. I didn't read every reply, though I'm certain I'm not the only one that finds no issue with the difficulty in the swamp.

Swamp isnt to hard. The only thing here is that you need to get used to it.

My first attempt just was a loong wtf moment. Draugrs where new for mecand the damn waterworms too xD

And i got unlucky at some point when a one star troll with greyligs chased me intobthe swamp at night while drougr archers where shooting atm me and a slime poisoned me too xD.

Later i got bitten to death by some wirms and got surprised by a ghost.

So well preparation is the key.

Get full troll gear at least at lvl 3 and a small bronze shield and bronze sword on highest lvl possible. Shoot slimes from dostance with bow. Avoid getting intobthe water and kite the drougrs around while you kill their archets.

You can craft some food and health potioms too. And always go slow and sneaky

To get your stuff back, eat highest quality food for max health and stamina, and poison resistance potion, keep your inventory empty so when you get to your gravestone you get your items immediately. When you see enemies, sneak around them. Your food buffs should help you sneak and make a run for it once you get your items back. Recommended food: turnip stew, carrot soup, and sausage. Also really important, make sure you have the rested buff. Helps to have a big base with deer/wolf carpet, furniture, bed, fire to extend the buff. The more prepared you are in this game, the more likely you are to survive. Good luck viking!

If you dont want to cheat, you cheese your way into the swamps by building a base starting at the edge of the swamp preferedly in meadows biome (with a portal to your home as well) as close as possible to a crypt or better two crypts . then you elevate your building into the indestructible trees, and turtle your way towards the crypts , once youre close enough you construct another outpost in the trees, set up portal, bed, storage, smelter for your iron. This also has the beneficial side effect to prevent spawning all around your base structures that you used to turtle into the deeper parts of the swamp.
Then you run into the crypts farm all the iron, (note that you can use scrap mud piles as block in doorways and shoot the enemies who cant fight back or reach you.
Dont want to haul all the heavy iron back to your base? Logout in crypt, go to a new game , drop your stuff, log back into the crypt, rince and repeat , later portal to you main base , log out , log in to the other game pick up your stuff and log back into your main game.
Make a bonfire if you can it wont care about rain, or raise terrain up to your base for a fire place, same for smelters and stuff. First and only weapon to build is IRON MACE...everything else is trash. Bring a HOE and flatten as much terrain as you can while youre at it... especially later when you want to do bonemass.

Yeah Swamp Corpse runs are the worst and I don't care what anyone says - the swamp is awful and too far a step up in power needed from the Black Forest - seriously - I'm taking a huge break from the game just because of the swamp

Thats why you build base in trees...if you have to corpse run god forbid...its a easy peasy operation to get your butt back to safety.
