Anyone having a problem using mods with Vortex?
It claims all the mods are installed and enabled, but nothing works.

I can manually install all the mods and it works just fine, but would rather use a tool like Vortex, which is, in theory, easier to use. Just not working for me.

I tried Vortex and it borked all my mods after it forced me to download the DLL Unstripped utility.

I uninstalled Vortex and am just doing it manually.

As far as I know you can't use Vortex for them. Like Mass Effect, they use a different method.

Using vortex without any issue currently. Need to move the correct bepin files into the correct directory as well as download the unstripped DLL thing before they'll work.
There'll be a readme within the bepin download to guide you through its respective process.

I've had no problems getting mods working with Vortex, it can definitely do the job. Are you making sure to pay attention to that tiny little top right corner notification section asking for elevated permissions? I initially thought it failed to install the mod I'd tried to add, but it turned out to still be waiting for the permission confirmation to complete the job.

The only way you need to elevate the permissions is if you installed in the default C:\Program File (x86) folder, which you should never do for games you can modify.

you simply take the single DLL files in each mod zip file and drop it in the plugins folder why do you need an installer to do that for you? dont use it.

Come to think of it, I never did specify an installation location... Dang it. Of course I didn't want to install it there, that's my small SSD that's pretty much just for Windows itself. I changed the download location because everything wants to save stuff there by default but completely blanked on the installation location itself in the first place.

With that being said though, aside from my SSD space concerns, what reason are you talking about for not putting it in the default location? It's seemed to work fine so far.

i said that I already did that. I was trying to help my young nephew to add mods, and if I don't want to micromanage his game, then Vortex would, in theory, make things a lot easier.

But I've given up. I manually installed everything on my system and put the files he needs on a USB in such a way that all he has to do is copy the contents and paste them into his Valheim folder.

His dad was at my house anyway, so I gave him the USB and showed him what to do. It's easy enough for me to delete the mods I don't want in my own game.

It's a Windows Protected folder.
I have all my games installed on other HDDs so I don't need to worry about that, plus that's my small SSD as well ;)
