Thanks, didn't think about going vertical, I've been stacking boxes horizontal on wood floor pieces
In some games like this I reach a breaking point and bail out to play modded minecraft instead where I can deal with storage in a civilized way (automation well beyond the scope and possibilities of any game that isn't heavily modded minecraft)
I'm trying some mods for pulling from chests for crafting and putting away crap auto because this nonsense gets old. This at least gets one to something like a Terraria level of barbarism vs full on cave man.
Cuts out all the tedium of inventory management.
As far as I am concerned this was my only possible solution to my problem...
Even if it costed me
84 Iron
420 fine wood
42 coal
and 500+ wood to build...

I wish the iron boxes were a little shorter. They look a uncomfortably snug on a half-wall-tall shelf.
Yeah I lose out on 4 inventory spaces (40 vs 36) but I much prefer only having one box with a sign, instead of multiple boxes for nearly everything I horde...
