Are there any PLACABLE light sources that do not use fuel?
Seeing the glowing mushrooms in the crypts gave me the idea for this. Basically, a light source that does not require fuel, but also provides little to no actual light compared to proper light sources.

Would be useful for some niche things, like lighting up pathways at night and such. Not really doable with torches because they constantly need to be fueled, and mobs will target them frequently.

If this doesn't exist, I'd argue that it should.

Can those be placed? If so, I haven't figured out how.

No idea, never tried using them for light in an area exposed to critter attacks. I feel like critters should attack any undefended player structure, though.

Your place them the same way like the surtlimg trophies. You can craft those little placing things for items and trophies wich allows decorating the base : D forgott the name atm

Well, I've never had mobs try and attack any of the bridges I build, but I always remove the workbench after I finished those. I think having mobs attack them would cause some problems.

Workbenches and torches on the other hand seem to be prime targets.

Maybe they only go after structures that inhibit the monster spawn, don't know. If that's the case they shouldn't attack vertical item mounts. If you test it, let us know what happens.

Yellow mushrooms aren't enough to actually light an area (other than what is within a very small radius of them). Dragon eggs probably give the most usable light.

Another edit: Some things, like mushrooms, require the horizontal item stand and will not mount on a vertical stand.

And I will add: I tried using items as "harbour markers". Kinda useless really as they don't spawn in at distance that's beneficial.

Vertical or Horizontal Item stand. Requires access to bronze nails.

BTW, tame boars will be afraid of the yellow mushrooms.

Things that glow:

- Yellow Mushroom
- Surtling trophy
- Wards
- Dragon Eggs
- Stamina potion (yellow light)
- Cold resist potion (blue light)
- Anti poison potion (green light)
- Stone golem trophy
- Fuling totems
- Elder trophy
- Swamp key
- Porcupine
- Draugr fang bow

All of the above can be used as infinite lightsources and be placed on item stands, except the ward ofc..

Yellow shrooms and surtling heads ( but i think these may low your fps like normal fire ) has higher light but u have to hang a lot to get good light , swamp key the most "extended" but dim light , dragon egg is in the midle and maybe the golem trophie , but its the last one i didnt get in 680 days , kill lots of golems and nothing , now i use them in trap holes to train weapon skills

I guess the yellow mushrooms are the only thing that can be reliably farmed enough to light a path at night. Keep in mind, the purpose is not to light up the path per se, but the mark the edges of the path so the player has an easier time staying on it at night.

Maybe the potions too, but that seems like a gross misuse of resources, especially when yellow mushrooms can be founded so easily in high amounts.
