Not true. Swords are well balanced, they require less strenght to use then a mace or axe. even two handed swords.
And no soldier went to war with only 1 weapon, they all had at the very least a sort of Dagger or small sword as back up.
Great swords have been disruptive weapons (in all meanings) used by berserker champions against tight enemy formations. They are useless to a single adventurer or a small group.
Quality steel was bought from southern lands, as I read. That's why it was rare and expansive.
the wikings arent known to use super heavy two handed hammers either.
or have horns on their helmets, unlike popular belief (drake helmet) or make weapons out of silver ect.....
Carrots were also purple and not orange, I don't see your point.
Norsemen and Vikings didn´t use great swords. They primarily used spears, then axes and then swords. Swords were expensive so most of them used spears and axes.
Realism have never been part of this game.
Only one helmet were ever found in Scandinavia and is confirmed by archeologists and other scholars as a "viking" helmet and yet we have what, 5 different helmet type headgears?
One of them even with dragoon horns...
Please, stop talking about realism in Valheim; its a viking inspired fantasy game.
And it's utterly awesome, dont get me wrong, but not based on historical realism.
