Club lvl 3 vs copper knife
Should I invest those 8 copper or stay with lvl 3 club?

As far as progression goes, your next stop is the swamps. Most enemies there are weak to blunt damage so you would be better off making a bronze mace.

Save for sword

The knife is good for sneak slaying some creatures and the club is good for skeletons. You'll need the skills gained from the club for later in the game for the Mace. Maybe make a bronze mace to replace the club.

You also move faster with the knife out than with any other weapon so you can still run up on those deer.

There aren't a lot of enemies that a knife will be useful for besides a first hit and an upgraded flint knife would probably be comparable.
Many enemies will be weak to the club's blunt damage.

This really is a good point.

Trying to sneak through the swamp would be painfully frustrating, and several of the enemies (including the boss) are weak vs clubs. Plus the bronze mace has a devastating power attack that can 1-shot kill blobs... So yeah, I'd say go mace.

If you get copper knife, you should also carry bronze atgeir. Knife is good for sneak attack due to 10x damage. Atgeir works well on trolls if you have to fight.

8 copper is easy to replace. If you want a knife then make a knife but the knife will be of little use in the swamp so the advice above is solid.

I stuck with an upgraded club for quite a while until I switched up to a mace. If you're ready for the swamp then make sure you have a bronze pick and a blunt weapon. I agree that the secondary mace attack is helpful for taking down blobs with one swing, but if you're ready to hit the swamp it might be worth skipping a bronze mace and going for iron instead. I'm in the mountains and occasionally go to the plains and the iron mace is still working fairly well for me.

I used a knife a total of 0 times during my playthrough. It's just not necessary. There are few, if any enemies who can't easily be killed with blunt damage. Maybe in the future other weapons will become more useful. But I found that I could easily beat the game with just clubs and bows.

If you compare damages with sneak you'll find the knives still suck.
A green sword at 95 damage x3 is more than a green knife at 18 damage x10. By 50%.
