Which black metal.weapon should I get?

Sword is good, but not so different from silver sword if you upgraded that. I made the atgier because I hadn't been using any other polearms, and it doubles as a scythe for the farm. I use the axe for woodchopping, not really a better weapon than any of the maces or swords at that point.

So..... not many options. Shield is the most useful, after that sword, then the rest based on what you currently have from iron or silver tier stuff.

Porcupine uses iron, needles and linen (and fine wood). No blackmetal.

After testing all the BM weapons the only one that appears to make much difference vs. iron or silver weapons is the knife.

I use a BM knife when hunting/gathering because the quick swing makes hunting and defending (like while lumberjacking) quicker & less burdensome. It will one-shot boars, deer and Greys (after leveling up the Knife skill a bit).

I use black metal shield+sword with best bow and im fine. Im not sure if black metal sword is way better then silver sword or not... so actually shield is only BM item i need.

Stick it in a crate. Might be useful when more biomes get released, but that's anyones guess....and probably a fair piece down the road.

What I did was download a mod that changes the Padded Armor requirement from Iron to Black Metal - feels like it was supposed to be that way from the start. Otherwise, nothing - tho it does sparkle nicely when left in a pile.

Or do what I also did and make one of each BM weapon just to test them out.

TBH Black metal weapons are not really any better. For me Draugr Bow Porcupine and Black metal shield is the best combo, The padded armour is good also (needs iron not black metal) and I would recommend getting that then the shield. The procupine is an iron weapon though porcupine does need linen to craft I used the Frostner till I could craft the porcupine. The frostner needs silver to craft as does the Draugr Bow. Both frostner and Draugr bow are good end game weapons also Personally unless you are iron rich and have plenty to spare I would keep it for making padded armour. You can get by on troll armour or bronze armour untill you make wolf armour (silver).
