All my boars suddenly dead?
So I come back to my base after being away for 2 weeks.... and find all my boars replaced by a stack of meat and leather scraps.

Like they literally exploded at some point.

My pen is surrounded by walls that were undamaged. There is a crafting bench in the pen that was undamaged.

How did they all die? Is hunger a thing now? If I got raided by mobs surely they would have wrecked fences and the crafting bench?

Two days ago I noticed that a couple of mine had died so I went to check on them. I saw they they were actually hungry and I was not trying to breed them since I had a good supply. I am sure they have made it to where they have to be fed now.

You dont need to feed boars.

Not quite "suddenly" then. I've always wondered what would happen if I stopped feeding my wolf pack. They're gluttonous little bastiges.

Boars get hungry, they probably starved to death.

There is no animal hunger in the game. The hungry thing is just a flag that says there not breeding. If they are happy and eat again they have a % to breed. otherwikse don't.

Had the same problem, i happend after a attack from dragons, maybe the freezing dmg killed them? i am unsure what killed my boars but i think it was the freezing dmg..

I had swamp event and noticed that enemies tried to kill mine, so probaply some greydwarf snucked in?

Unless your base is completely walled in and all doors/gates are closed you would be surprised at some of the things mobs destroy.

Last night I JUST placed a beehive and a draugher bowman destroyed it instantly (it was a 1 star.)

Mobs will run in and go straight for crops as well, lost half twice by the time I finished the wall.

I actually lost a karve the other day because the mobs wandered in by my dock which had a workbench that was not 100% enclosed. The mobs destroyed the workbench and the karve. Since the workshop as gone the materials for the karve despawned. Ever since I enclose or bury my workbenches.
